The ION (Individual Optimal Nutrition) Profile is a combination of analysis that measures levels of organic acids, fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Over time, functional nutritional inadequacies can result in a variety of chronic health conditions. The ION Profile can help determine the basis for these chronic health conditions.

Included profiles are the:

* Organix Profile – reveals the nutritional and metabolic basis of patient symptoms, including anxiety, mood changes, and immune responses. (includes all B vitamin needs, including B12, metabolic blocks, and more)

* Amino Acid Profile – determines essential amino acid imbalances that affect both physical and mental function. Amino acids can effect proper neurotransmitter action, growth, energy and more.

 * Nutrient and Toxic Element Profiles – identify a toxic burden, which can render considerable damage to the brain, liver and nervous system as well as sufficiency of nutrient elements.

* Fatty Acid Profile – helps strike the right balance of fatty acids that can impact health and development. (tests for various omega 3, 6 and 9's). Fatty acid balance is needed for healthy skin, coordination, hair health, growth, nervous system health and more.

* Antioxidant Vitamins – measure a total body status of antioxidant nutrients and nutritional deficiencies. A great indicator of free radical damage vs. antioxidant needs.

* Fat-Soluble Vitamins: includes Vitamins A, E, K, D, CoQ10, Beta Carotene
 
* Lipid Peroxides – measure of total serum lipid peroxidation, an indication of whole body free radical activity.

* Homocysteine – elevated total homocysteine in plasma is an independent risk factor for premature cardiovascular disease and atherothrombotic cerebrovascular disease.

The ION™ Profile is Helpful in Cases of:

Heart Disease: where deficiencies of magnesium, taurine, carnitine, fatty acids and other important substances commonly accompany heart disease. Re-supplying depleted nutrients greatly aids in prevention and recovery.

Obesity: since many obese persons have multiple nutritional deficiencies. Dietary improvement and nutritional supplementation based on ION test results help many achieve more active metabolism. In the process, they are able to eliminate excess fat and fluid.
