Hormones

Hormone Saliva Testing
Learn which natural hormones your body needs to support PMS, Peri-Menopause, Menopause, Infertility and Male Menopause (Andropause) . Women and men simply do not feel well when there is a hormone imbalance. We use saliva testing instead of blood. Saliva tells the hormone levels in the tissues before it reaches the blood. It can help prevent a serious illness or a major hormone imbalance in the future. Saliva testing is easy to do and you can start feeling better quickly. We only use bio identical hormones to help balance your hormones.

Symptoms of imbalanced hormones: hot flashes, irregular bleeding, insomnia, acne, hair loss, weight gain, anxiety, infertility, fatigue, PCOS, and more

We check for Estrogen, Progesterone, DHEA, LH, FSH, Cortisol, and Testosterone.

Adrenal Fatigue & Cortisol

The adrenals are small organs which produce hormones that are essential to your health and well being.  They determine how your body will respond to everyday occurrences, especially stress.

Adrenal Fatigue is a health disorder that affects people with severe emotional or physical stress.  These people may get a good night’s sleep but are still tired during the day. People with adrenal fatigue usually have low cortisol or low DHEA. These people just feel burnt out!

High Cortisol levels are usually found when there is extreme anxiety and panic attacks. High cortisol levels prevent a person to be able to calm down. High Cortisol can also cause you to store more body fat, especially around the waist.

When there is adrenal and cortisol balance along with proper diet and nutrition, stress is handled better, the mind is clearer, weight loss occurs easier and energy levels are normal. The person just feels better!

Hypothyroid & Hyperthyroid

To test and balance thyroid hormones we use a combination of saliva testing along with traditional blood testing. Saliva measures the level of “active” hormone in the tissues, where hormones work. A thyroid imbalance will actually begin in the tissues of the body before it reaches the blood. This early detection of a condition can prevent a major problem later on.

Hypothyroid occurs when the body does not make enough thyroid hormone. Thus most people with this condition have a slower metabolism and thus a harder time losing weight. Symptoms are: fatigue, weakness, dry hair, weight gain or inability to lose weight, cold intolerance, muscle cramps, constipation, depression, irritability, memory loss, decreased libido, PMS or irregular cycles.

Hyperthyroid occur when there is too much thyroid hormone on tissues of the body.  Some people with Hyperthyroidism can lose weight easily while others gain weight since they tend to eat very often. They are also intolerant to heat. Other symptoms are: end of day fatigue, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, hand tremors, irritability, shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle weakness, increased bowel movements, light or non existing menstrual periods.

Insomnia & Sleep Disorders

Insomnia is the inability to sleep at a time when sleep should normally occur. Sleep is a necessity to all people. The average person needs 8 hours of sleep per night. People with insomnia may have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep.

Insomnia can be a symptom of an underlying problem.  It can be caused by stress, lifestyle, food allergies, mineral imbalances, low serotonin, hormone imbalances & auto immune conditions.  At Nutritionally Yours we can find out WHY you aren’t sleeping and then suggest natural remedies to help you have a good night’s sleep……every night.
